Intestinal problems for dogs are no laughing matter. Especially for the poor dog who may experience a loss of energy (tied to incomplete digestion) or other complications resulting from the source of the intestinal problem.
Dog digestive tracts are not that different from any other mammals’, including humans’. There’s a mouth at one end, a rectum on the other, and a series of pockets and secretions along the way to help convert the stuff that went in the mouth into the stuff that ends up making spots on the neighbor’s lawn.
Keeping this food-tube healthy is very important.
If your dog has intestinal problems, its important to make sure that all of your dog’s basic needs are being met. If ample clean drinking water, a variety of canine-friendly food, regular physical activity, and regular pats on the head don’t clear up your dog’s intestinal issues, it may be prudent to speak with a vet.
