Most dogs are homemade.  In fact, very few dogs are made that are not homemade.  That’s because, with the very rare exception of dogs that are made in non-home environments like labs, all dogs are homemade.

Some dog homes (where the doggy heart is) are in human homes.  Many dogs are made there.  Other dogs are homemade in dog homes - places like that empty shed down the street, down by the creek where people don’t often go, behind Yanni’s where the cook throws out the extra pasta sauce at 10pm, and many other places that only dogs know about.

I even once saw a homemade dog being made right in the middle of the street.  Good thing for those two dogs there weren’t any cars coming through just then.

As for laxatives, it is true that they can be given to homemade dogs.  Homemade dog laxatives will help a homemade dog go #2 more easily, potentially relieving constipation or other bowel obstruction issues.

What I don’t know is:  what happens when you give a laxative to a non-homemade dog?
